TROIKA meets Andy Warhol
Art is for everyone.
For Andy Warhol (1928–87), this was the motto which formed the basis of his revolutionary art. And it lives on, even after his death – in the limited edition Andy Warhol Personal Accessories by TROIKA. TROIKA now presents the tenth edition – accessories bearing the Marilyn Monroe image from 1967.
Andy Warhol Personal Accessories – successful since 2008
The design collaboration between TROIKA and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts was the driving force behind the first editions in 2008. TROIKA created key-rings in the shapes of the Cow, Banana and Flowers images which everyone now recognizes as iconic Andy Warhol motifs. Following the successful market launch of this edition, TROIKA went a step further with the second and third editions. The Dollar Sign and Diamond Dust Shoes editions are collections of various everyday accessories ranging from the business card case to the pill box. Subsequent editions included men’s jewelry and pens.
For men – for women
In devising the motif and accessory combinations, special care has been taken to create separate collections for men and women. The card cases and key-rings remain popular gifts for men – even more so when adorned with an authentic Andy Warhol dollar sign – while women love the limited edition Andy Warhol style of the pocket mirror and handbag holder featuring the colorful array of high heels.
A mass phenomenon – the art of Andy Warhol
The works of Andy Warhol lend themselves well to reproduction, and he often produced high-volume print runs of his designs himself. Hand-painted originals held relatively little appeal for this genius; he created serial art for the masses. He would have liked the fact that his most famous motifs have now made their way back into daily use in the form of commodity items. The Andy Warhol Personal Accessories range is a modern and intelligent reflection of the unique artistic vision of the most influential American artist of the 20th century.
