White gold... Porcelain was produced in China as early as AD 620. It took more than 1,000 years before the Europeans discovered its secret. The King of Saxony, August the Strong, put Johann Friedrich Böttger, an apothecary, in prison to force him to produce gold. Together with the scholar Tschirnhaus he discovered how to make porcelain at a time when it was considered to be at least as valuable as gold. That is why porcelain is still known as white gold today. The classy FASTFOOD salt shaker egg is fired into porcelain at 1,400° in a small Bavarian factory. All by hand and MADE IN GERMANY.
